Industry awareness of Blind Spot safety issues has increased significantly
over the last few years. All commercial vehicles suffer from Blind Spots
and numerous dangerous accidents result from these. Rigids
and artics are particularly susceptible to this type of accident.
The Department of Transport recognises the hazards caused by Blind Spots
and is supporting EU proposals to extend the use of systems to reduce
blind spots and increase vision around the vehicle.
